Left 4 Dead 2 Adrenaline & Katana Brutality video

l4d2I know Left 4 Dead 2 has been out for a little while now, but I didn’t pick it up on release.

No particular reason. I just had a lot of work on before Christmas and was still playing a lot of Street Fighter IV.

Anyway, I’ve finally bought it from Steam and I’m loving it. I’ve been playing games most evenings this week with my brother and an old TF2 mate.

There are a lot of reasons to love L4D2. New maps, new weapons, new special infected, new music, new characters. Well, maybe not so much the new characters. They aren’t quite as good as the old L4D mob. It could be nostalgia speaking, but I loved those guys. Ellis is my favourite out of the new…

21+ second Ultras from Super Street Fighter IV

20ultras

Capcom Unity ran their playtest event for Super Street Fighter IV last night.

Players got to try out some of the new cast, as well as seeing what tweaks have been made to existing characters. The build being played yesterday was the one with the 4 blank character slots, so anyone worried about the recent post-famitsu stream pic with those 4 blank slots removed can now calm down.

Some of the new ultras were tested out by the community and uploaded to various places online.

I’ve grabbed a few of them and compiled them together into one video for your viewing pleasure.

I also uploaded a separate video of the new Viper Ultra, Burning Dance.

They’re both available to view below.

20+ new ultras:

Vipers ultra, Burning Dance:

Edit: Cammys added, CQC:

2ultra3costume

This newly released Gametrailers ad officially confirms and shows us some of the new ultras and alternate costumes already in place for some of the cast of Super Street Fighter IV.

As well as alternate costumes for Rufus, Chun Li, Balrog, Dan and Cammy we get to see new second Ultras from Ryu, Dhalsim, Zangief, El Fuerte and Ken. And more, including a peek into some of the new rival battles!

Zangief gets a Mech Zangief alt, Dan gets some sort of funky hawiian getup, Chun Li gets one apparently based on Chinese Opera, Rufus goes for the Kung Fu look, Cammy gets a Dictator alt and Balrog goes all out gangsta!

Here’s the video if you’re fiending for it;

A recent scan from Japanese magazine Famitsu also shows…

Super Street Fighter IV release date… and Hakan revealed?

ssf4_release

Well, according to IGN the release date for Super Street Fighter IV will be March 31st 2010.

This has since been reflected on Amazon and Newegg, although no one really knows if they’re just taking IGN’s word for it.

The game is being listed at $39.99 for both PS3 and XBox 360 on Amazon.com. On Amazon.co.uk the pricing is coming in at £24.99 for PS3 and £29.99 for 360.

Hopefully that is remedied, seems a bit crap to be paying a fiver more just to have it on the better console *stirs up fanboys*

Additionally, this picture has been displayed on a recent Japanese blog post.

In the top left you can see Juri, but in the top right partially disguised by a blanka figure… Is that the new rumoured fighter…

First Smashing Pumpkins song released from new album

sp_main

So, for the benefit of anyone who doesn’t know me that well; the Smashing Pumpkins were the band who opened my eyes to music.

I still rank their 1995 double album, Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness as my favourite album of all time, despite the fact that I have not listened to it for some time.

I feel that the album perfectly manages to convey a number of emotions while traversing an immense sonic landscape.

Anyway, now it’s years later. Following Jimmy Chamberlin’s decision to depart the Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan  is now carrying on the moniker by himself.

Billy recently made the following announcement;

I’m happy to finally announce the plans for the new Smashing Pumpkins album.

Recording began yesterday, September 15th, 2009 on the new record which will…

New Super SF4 video features 6 new characters!

ssf4_replace

Aww hells yeah! Following the recent news that Guy, Cody and Adon will feature in Super Street Fighter IV, this new video released by IGN lets us see them in action.

You’ll get to see not only those three, but some more of T.Hawk, Deejay and Juri. And hear a bit of their english voicework.

Not only do you get to see them pulling a couple of their signature moves, but you also get to see an ultra from each character!

I’m still expecting great things from Guy, but Cody and particularly Adon have definitely caught my interest after seeing them in action.

Check it out, and let me know what you think below;

Super Street Fighter IV - Guy, Cody and Adon announced!

guybanner

That’s right - two characters from Final Fight and the Alpha series, and Adon who’s technically from the first Street Fighter game have now been confirmed for Street Fighter IV!

Check out the screens here from Japanese magazine Famitsu - Cody and Adon - Guy.

A few sharp eyes around the net have also spotted a kunai dagger in the top right of the page featuring Guy. Apparently, one of the comments on the page in japanese states something along the lines of “A kunai dagger.. but whose? *tease”

The answer likely being Ibuki, a kunai wielding ninja from Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. Check this image for a zoom comparison and a normal kunai for reference.

With Seth Killian of Capcom being quoted as saying there will be “around” 8…

Black Dynamite: Officially the best film ever made.

bd

Did you feel like the world was a little different when you woke up on October 16th? Like someone had finally made a stand against the suckas of the world and made a difference?

Someone did, and that someone was Black Dynamite.

DYNAMITE! DYNAMITE!

Ahem, sorry. Black Dynamite is a 2009 Scott Sanders movie spoofing the 70s blaxploitation films, and in particular films like Black Belt Jones.

It’s also the only film that I can ever recall instantly needing to see after just seeing the poster. It stars Michael Jai White (previously of the hugely flawed comic book movie flop Spawn, which I personally found kinda entertaining.)

I managed to locate a copy of this film and watched it in the perfect conditions; sitting with a few friends and a…
